Heard learned counsel for the parties.

By means of this petition a prayer has been made to issue a direction to the respondent to pay statutory interest in terms of Section 34 of the Land Acquisition Act, 1894 on the compensation amount awarded to the petitioner under Award No. 03/10-11 from the date of possession till the date of payment.

For the aforesaid purpose, we permit petitioner to make a representation to the respondent, who shall consider the same, and if the petitioner is entitled, shall pay the interest within 08 weeks from today. 4.

In case, the petitioner, according to the respondent, is not entitled to payment of interest, detailed reasons shall be intimated. The decision under this order and payment, if any, shall be made within 08 weeks from the day representation by the petitioner is made to the respondent.
