The present petition has been filed by the petitioner seeking the following reliefs:- "i) Issue a writ of Mandamusdirecting Respondent Nos. 1-3 to proceed with Application ID No. 32263220251705UGSP7U filed on the Indian Citizenship Portal and assess it on its own merits; without insisting on identification of a Consulate to route it through and subsequently, without insisting on any declaration as to passport of another country; ii) Direct Respondent Nos. 1-3 to suitably amend the E-Tourist Visa terms of Petitioner No. 1 being ETA No. 902E7B6AO thereby permitting him to stay in India till hislndian citizenship is formally recognized in terms of Prayer Clause (i) issue is resolved;

iii) Issue ex-parte ad-interim directions protecting Petitioner No. 1 from any adverse action such as deportation etc. on account of the issues raised vide the present Petition, pending its final disposal.

iv) Pass any such other order/direction in the interest of justice; 2.

Standing Counsel submits that the visa granted to the petitioner no.1 has been extended up to 29.05.2026.

As far as, the application filed by the petitioner no.1 for grant of Indian Citizenship under Section 4 (1A) of the Citizenship Act, 1955 is concerned, the respondents are directed to duly process the same in accordance with the applicable rules, and an endeavour be made to expedite the same.

No further orders are required to be passed in the present petition. The same is accordingly disposed of.

Needless to say, if the petitioner is aggrieved by the outcome of the aforesaid exercise, he shall be at liberty to avail appropriate remedies under law.
