This is Writ Petition under Article 226 of the Constitution of India read with Section 528 of BNSS, 2023 for directions to respondent No. 1 to provide safety/security to the petitioner and for taking appropriate steps against respondent No. 2.

Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that on 06.11.2024, respondent No. 2 forcibly entered the shop, threatened to set it on fire if the petitioner did not handover the shop papers, verbally abused and physically The authenticity of the order can be re-verified from Delhi High Court Order Portal by scanning the QR code shown above. assaulted her, causing injuries. She states that the matter was reported to the police and NCR was recorded but police took no further action in the matter despite multiple complaints, as a result of which, petitioner is even fearful of visiting her shop or the market.

Learned ASC submits that application under Section 156 (3) Cr. PC filed by the petitioner has since been dismissed by the trial court. However, he has no objection in case the number of the Beat Officer of the area and SHO be shared with the petitioner to ensure the safety and security of the petitioner against any threat.

It is the duty of the State to provide the safety and security to all the citizens of the country and this Court being the Constitutional Court, is expected to further the rights of the citizens. 5.

In view of that, the SHO within whose jurisdiction the petitioner is residing, is directed to share his contact details as also the contact details of the Beat Officer of the area with the petitioner so that in case of need, an immediate help can be sought by the petitioner. 6.

The petition is disposed of in terms of the aforesaid directions. RAVINDER DUDEJA, J.
