By way of the present petition, the petitioner seeks quashing of the FIR bearing No. 897/2021, registered at Police Station Bawana, District North, Delhi, for the commission of offences punishable under Sections 323/341 of the Indian Penal Code, 1860 (hereafter 'IPC'). 4.

The petitioner and respondent no. 2 are present before this Court and have been identified by their counsel and Investigating Officer (IO) concerned.

Brief facts of the case are that on 02.11.2021, a quarrel had taken place between the petitioner and respondent no.2, wherein the respondent no. 2 got injured and had been taken to a hospital. Upon the complaint being filed by respondent no. 2, the present FIR came to be registered against the petitioner. After investigation, chargesheet was filed before the concerned Court. It is stated that with the intervention of family and friends, the parties have now amicably settled their disputes vide Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) dated 14.05.2025.

On a query made by this Court, respondent no. 2 who has been identified by the IO concerned, has categorically stated that he has entered into a compromise out of his own free will and without any pressure, coercion or threat. Therefore, she has no objection if the present FIR is quashed.

In view of the above, that the parties have amicably resolved their differences of their own free will, and without any coercion, and no useful purpose will be served by continuing the proceedings, rather the same would create further acrimony between them. It would thus be in interest of justice to quash the abovementioned FIR and the proceedings pursuant thereto. There is no legal impediment in quashing the FIR in question. 9.
