Learned ASC accepts notice for respondent no. 1. Respondent no.2 Ms. Shivani Arora is present in Court and accepts notice. Respondent no. 2 and the petitioners have been identified by ASI Vinod Kumar of police station Bawana. Respondent no.2 submits that she has settled the dispute with the petitioners of her own free will and without any undue force, pressure or coercion before Delhi Mediation Centre, Rohini District Courts, Delhi on 13th May, 2019. Respondent no. 2 further
submits that her marriage with the petitioner no.1 has already been dissolved by a decree of divorce by mutual consent dated 25th July, 2019 passed by the Judge, Family Courts, Rohini (North), Delhi. Petitioner no. 1 has paid today a sum of Rs.2,00,000/- to the respondent no. 2, vide a demand draft, and photocopy of the same has been placed on record. Respondent no. 2 says that entire settled amount of Rs.14,00,000/- stands paid with this payment and she has no objection in case FIR is quashed against the petitioner no. 1 and his relatives, that is, petitioner nos. 2 to 7. Investigating Officer has identified both the parties.
Keeping in mind the facts and circumstances as detailed above and the settlement arrived at between the parties, the Court is of the opinion that no useful purpose will be served by continuing with the proceedings, FIR No. 286/2017, under Section 498-A/34 IPC registered at Police Station Bawana and the consequent proceedings emanating therefrom are quashed. Petition is disposed of in the above terms.
