The present petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution read with section 482 Cr.P.C. seeking directions to the respondent to release the petitioner on parole for a period of 30 days for performing the last rites and other rituals of his mother who expired on 31.05.2024. 2.
The counsel for the petitioner stated that the petitioner has already filed an application for grant of parole which was stated to be signed on 10.06.2024 and the said application has not been decided by the competent authority.

Ms. Priyam Agrawal, Advocate appearing on advance notice on behalf of the respondent requested for one weeks' time for disposal of the application filed by the petitioner for grant of parole in accordance with law. 4.
