The petitioner has filed the present petition, inter alia, seeking that appropriate directions be issued to grant her parole for a period of two months.

The petitioner had applied for parole which was rejected by an order dated 02.08.2019, however, the Jail Superintendent had considered the petitioner's case and had granted her furlough. The petitioner is currently on furlough and is required to surrender on 19.09.2019. 5.

The petitioner states that she has two children, one of whom is a

minor. She states her elder child is a divorcee, who has delivered an infant on 02.09.2019. She states that the child was a caesarean delivery and therefore, her daughter is in urgent need of her assistance. 6.

The learned ASC appearing for the state fairly states that there is no dispute that the petitioner's daughter had delivered a male child on 02.09.2019.

In view of the above mitigating circumstances, this Court is of the view that parole ought to be granted to the petitioner for a further period of twenty days starting from 19.09.2019. Accordingly, the respondents are directed to grant parole to the petitioner till 10.10.2019. The parole would be on the same terms and conditions as stated in the order dated 28.08.2019. The petitioner shall surrender on or before 10.10.2019. 8.

The petition is disposed of.
