Petitioner has approached this Court seeking setting aside of the Order dated 07.05.2024, passed by the learned ASJ, Dwarka Courts in CA No.194/2020, affirming the Judgment on conviction dated 24.07.2020 and Order on Sentence dated 09.09.2020, passed by the learned MM, NI Act, Dwarka Courts, in Case No.14553/2017, convicting the Petitioner for offences under Section 138 NI Act and sentencing the Petitioner Till the Rising of Court (TRC) and pay a sum of Rs.4,62,000/- (which includes simple interest of 6% and litigation charges of Rs.15,000/-) fine which shall be paid as compensation to the Complainant.

Today, the Petitioner and the Respondent have joined the proceedings through Video Conferencing and submits that the matter has been settled. 3.
The Apex Court in Damodar S Prabhu v. Sayed Babalal H., 2010 (5) SCC 663 has laid down the guidelines to encourage litigants in cheque dishonour cases to opt for compounding at any stage of the proceedings. Apex Court in the said judgment has permitted compounding of offence even at the stage of filing of the SLP and even thereafter. 4.
