The present petition has been filed under Sections 2(B) and 12 of the Contempt of Court Act, 1971, seeking initiation of contempt proceedings against the respondent for willful disobedience of the orders dated 8th October, 2021 and 9th December, 2021.

The matter was referred to the Delhi High Court Mediation and Conciliation Centre ('Mediation Centre') vide order dated 21st December, 2023, passed by the Roster Bench.

Counsel for the parties submit that the parties have mutually agreed before the Mediation Centre that Rs. 3,85,000/- is payable by the respondent (Husband) to the petitioner (Wife) towards arrears of maintenance. However, no agreement could be reached with regard to the schedule for the payment of the said amount.

Counsel for the respondent has handed over a sum of Rs. 50,000/- in cash to the petitioner in Court today. Counsel for the petitioner, without prejudice to her rights and contentions, accepts the aforesaid amount. 5.

Counsel for the respondent, on instructions from the Husband, who is present in Court, submits that the remaining arrears i.e., Rs.3,35,000/- would be liquidated by paying a sum of Rs. 8,000/- per month. 6.

It is made clear that the aforesaid sum of Rs.8,000/- per month will be paid in addition to the regular maintenance being paid by the Husband to the Wife.

The petition stands disposed of, in the aforesaid terms.
