This is a petition under Section 29A (4) of the Arbitration & Conciliation Act, 1996 for extending the mandate of the Arbitral Tribunal for completion of the arbitral proceedings.

Material on record indicates that a Sole Arbitrator was appointed in terms of the Order dated 02.02.2022 passed by this Court in ARB.P. 498/2021 to adjudicate upon the disputes between the parties. It is stated that the learned Arbitrator appointed in terms of the Order dated 02.02.2022 recused from the arbitration case on 19.09.2022 and the matter was referred back to the DIAC for re-appointment of an Arbitrator. 3.

On 31.01.2023, a new Arbitrator was appointed. It is stated that since the mandate of the Arbitral Tribunal has come to an end on 22.02.2024, the Petitioner has approached this Court for extension of time for the Arbitral The authenticity of the order can be re-verified from Delhi High Court Order Portal by scanning the QR code shown above. Tribunal to pass an Award.

In view of the above, this Court is inclined to extend the mandate of the Arbitral Tribunal for a further period of six months so that the Award can be pronounced and no further extension of time would be required. 5.

The petition is disposed of along with the pending applications, if any.
