Learned counsel for the respondent, on instructions from Mr. M.K. Pachauri, Joint Registrar (Admissions), JNU, who is present in court, says that in the peculiar facts and circumstances of this case, admission will be given to the petitioners provided the requisite formalities are fulfilled. 1.1 The needful will be done by the petitioners.

However, for the ensuing academic sessions, JNU will follow the mandate of the judgment of the Division Bench of this court rendered in Students Federation of India & Ors. v. Union of India & Ors., AIR 2019 Del. 69.

It is made clear that the directions contained in paragraph 1 above will not form a precedent.

The captioned writ petition is, accordingly, closed. 5.
