The present writ petition under Article 226 of the Constitution of India read with Section 528 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 20231 (corresponding to Section 482 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, 19732), seeks appropriate directions for ensuring the protection of life and liberty of the Petitioner and her husband.

The Petitioner, a senior citizen, residing at A-6, Ansal Villas, Satbari, New Delhi-110074, alleges that on 26th May, 2025, certain individuals were brought into the premises by their daughter-in-law and stationed outside all the rooms.

Counsel for the Petitioner states that these individuals have obstructed the free ingress and egress of the Petitioner and her husband, denied access to their visitors, and interfered with their movement within the premises. It is submitted that this has created an atmosphere of intimidation and fear, amounting to unlawful restraint.

The counsel further submits that despite filing a complaint with the police on 27th May, 2025, no action has been taken. A copy of the said complaint addressed to the SHO, P.S. Maidan Garhi, has been placed on record and perused.

Without delving into the merits of the allegations or rendering any findings on the underlying property dispute, this Court is of the view that the apprehension expressed by the Petitioner and her husband, both senior citizens, warrants a protective response from the State authorities.

Accordingly, the present petition is disposed of with the following directions:

5.1 The SHO of P.S. Maidan Garhi shall take action on the Petitioner's compliant dated 27th May, 2025, in accordance with law. 5.2 The concerned SHO shall provide adequate protection to the Petitioner and her husband so as to ensure that they are safe. The beat constable of the concerned area shall be sensitised to the situation and tasked with periodic visits to ensure the well-being of the Petitioner and her husband.

5.3 The Petitioner shall be provided with the contact numbers of the concerned police officials and beat constable, so they may be contacted immediately in case of any threat or apprehension. 6.

the persons in question have been introduced by her daughter-in-law, this Court has not examined the veracity of such claims. No observations made in this order shall be construed as a reflection on any party's rights or entitlements concerning the property in question. All rights and contentions are left open to be asserted before the appropriate forum. 7.

With the above directions the present petition is disposed of, along with pending application.
