This is a petition by the Petitioner- Central Warehousing Corporation (CWC) under Section 29A of the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996 seeking extension of the mandate of the Arbitral Tribunal. The arbitral proceeding arises out of an agreement dated 26th October, 2016, wherein CWC engaged the Respondent as the Service provider for operation and management of CWC's Railside Warehouse Complex, Ghaziabad. Clause (xxiii) of the said agreement is the dispute resolution clause and provides for resolution of the disputes and differences arising out of or in any way touching upon or concerning the agreement through Arbitration. Ld. Counsel for the Petitioner submits that the matter is at the final stage and final arguments are to be heard by the ld. Arbitrator. 4.

Accordingly, given that the arbitration is at the stage of final arguments, the mandate of the Arbitrator is extended by another six months from today. It is made clear that parties shall not take unnecessary adjournments before the ld. Arbitrator.
