These petitions have been filed under Section 29A of the Arbitration and Conciliation Act for extension of time for the learned Arbitrator to complete the proceedings and render the award. 2.

I have been informed that the learned Arbitrator has pronounced the award on 24th January, 2020.

It is the submission of Mr.P. Nagesh, learned counsel appearing for

the petitioners in both the petitions, that as the mandate of the learned Arbitrator had expired on 16th September, 2019, the period thereafter till the learned Arbitrator has pronounced the award be regularised. Learned counsel appearing for the respondent has no objection in that regard. The only objection taken by the learned counsel for the respondent is that the learned Arbitrator, despite a request, has not given any opportunity to the learned counsel for the respondent to make his oral submissions. 4.

Such an objection would not be maintainable in the petition under Section 29A of the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996. Liberty shall be with the respondent, if so advised to take such a plea, in the eventuality, a petition under Section 34 is filed by the respondent. 5.

Since, there is no objection with regard to the regularisation of time till the learned Arbitrator has rendered the award, this Court accordingly regularize / extend the period for rendering the award effective from 16th September, 2019 till January 24, 2020.

The petitions are disposed of.
