Petition under Article 226 of the Constitution of India read with Section 482 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973 („Cr.P.C.‟) has been preferred on behalf of the petitioner with the following prayers: "Issue appropriate writ, order and/or direction to the respondent to re-decide the application for parole filed by the petitioner expeditiously;

Issue notice. Learned ASC for State appears on advance notice and accepts notice.

Learned counsel for petitioner submits that an earlier application, preferred on behalf of petitioner, for parole was dismissed by the competent authority on the ground that SLP preferred on behalf of petitioner was pending. It is urged that SLP(Criminal) Diary No(s). 41157/2023, preferred on behalf of petitioner before Hon‟ble Supreme Court of India was disposed of vide order dated 13.10.2023 and thereafter another application for parole has also been preferred on behalf of petitioner on 22.02.2024 through e-mail, but the same has not been considered.

Learned ASC for State submits that if any such application has been further preferred on behalf of the petitioner on 22.02.2024, the same shall be disposed of in accordance with law within four weeks. 5.

Taking the statement of learned ASC for State on record, petition is accordingly disposed of.

A copy of the application be also provided by the learned counsel for the petitioner to learned ASC for State as well as Superintendent Jail within three days from today, i.e. 02.07.2024, as prayed on behalf of learned ASC for State.

A copy of this order be forwarded to Superintendent Jail for information and compliance.
