O R D E R

% 20.12.2019 Present writ of habeas corpus had been filed by the petitioner - father alleging that his daughter Ms.Gayatri has been missing since 22nd July, 2019. In the petition it had been averred that Ms.Gayatri is a minor who had eloped with her neighbour Mr.Ramesh.

Today, Mr.Rahul Mehra, learned Standing Counsel (Criminal) for Delhi Police has produced Ms.Gayatri in Court. Mr.Mehra states that Ms.Gayatri's statement under Section 164 Cr.P.C has been record. We have spoken to Ms.Gayatri and she states that she would like to stay with her parents.

Consequently, the Investigating Officer is directed to handover the custody of Ms.Gayatri to her parents who are present in Court. The parents of Ms.Gayatri have assured this Court that they will look after her and will cause her no harm. They have also assured this Court that they would not get Ms.Gayatri married against her wishes and till she attains the age of majority.

The Investigating Officer shall apprise 'Nirmal Chaya' of the orders passed by this Court today.
