The present writ petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India for quashing of the impugned letter dated 18.04.2019 and issuance of direction to the respondent for stopping the illegal cutting of 198 trees. 2.

It is stated that vide impugned letter dated 18.04.2019 issued by Deputy Conservator of Forests, West Forest Division addressed to the Chief Engineer, PWD, the permission of felling of 198 trees for widening of Mehrauli-Mahipal Pur Road was extended.

that the letter dated 18.04.2019 has become in-operational due to the order dated 31.08.2023 passed by the Coordinate Bench of this Court in CONT. CAS(C) 1149/2022 titled as Bhavreen Kandhari V C.D. Singh and Ors. wherein it was stated that if the felling of the trees is required for any important infrastructure project, that fact shall be intimated to the Court and vide order dated 06.03.2024 passed in the same petition, this Court has already directed to prepare Standing Operating Procedure (SOP) regarding prior permission required for felling of the trees. 4.

Accordingly, in view of the submissions made on behalf of respondents no.1 to 3, the counsel for petitioner, on instructions from petitioner no.1, seeks permission to withdraw the present petition. 5.

The present petition, along with pending applications, is allowed to be dismissed as withdrawn.
