W.P.(C) 1077/2016 The present writ petition has been filed seeking a direction to respondent No.2 to grant admission in DM-Infectious Disease to the petitioner against the General Category seat that has fallen vacant due to the resignation of Dr. Kajal Prasad. In the alternative, the petitioner seeks admission against the Sponsored Category seat which is also lying vacant.

Learned counsel for the petitioner states that the petitioner was wait-listed No. 2 against General category in the course of DMInfectious Disease for January, 2016 session.

Learned counsel for the petitioner further states that as one of the successful candidates did not choose to seek admission against the General Category, there is a vacant seat in the said course and the petitioner is the only eligible candidate for it. Learned counsel for the petitioner also states that the petitioner has submitted a representation dated 01st February, 2016 regarding admission, but till date, no decision has been taken. Consequently, the present writ petition is disposed of with a direction to respondent No.2 to decide the petitioner's representation dated 01st February, 2016 on or before 12th February, 2016.
