This petition has been filed under Section 29A of the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996, seeking extension of mandate of an arbitral tribunal which is in seisin of disputes between the parties under two contracts dated 23.03.2018, in relation to setting up of a wind-power project at Kutch, Gujarat.

The Tribunal was constituted on 19.03.2022 and its mandate was subsequently extended, by mutual consent of parties, for six months, until 20.06.2024.

I am informed that the proceedings are at the stage of crossexamination of witnesses. Ms. Riya Kalra, learned counsel for the respondent, appears on advance notice and states that the respondent has no objection to the relief sought.

In view of the above, and with the consent of learned counsel for the parties, the petition is allowed and the mandate of the Tribunal is extended for a period of 8 months, w.e.f. 21.06.2024. 6.

The petition, alongwith the pending application, stands disposed of in these terms.
