This is a petition under Section 29A of the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996 seeking extension of mandate of the Arbitral Tribunal by a period of 1 year w.e.f. 07.04.2024 for concluding the arbitral proceedings and passing the final award.

It is stated by learned counsel for the petitioner that the delay occurred on account of the fact that on some occasions the witnesses who were being examined were unwell.

Issue notice.

Ms Meghna Kar, learned counsel accepts notice on behalf of the respondent and states that she has no objection to the petition being allowed. 12.
For the reasons noted above, I am of the view that sufficient cause has been explained for the delay.
