The petitioner seeks anticipatory bail in FIR No. 200/2025, Police Station Jamia Nagar, under Section 110/3(5) of Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), 2023.

The Petitioner is, reportedly, a final year engineering student and is pursuing his Engineering from Jamia Millia Islamia University, New Delhi. 3.
The alleged incident happened on 25.04.2025 and even as per the averments appearing in the FIR, there was fight between two groups and it seems that the complainant was not the one who was actually targeted or intended to be hurt. the complainant, he received injuries at the hands of four persons including the petitioner/ Rehan herein. It seems that the complainant was caught in the middle of the fight between two rival factions. Admittedly, the co-accused, who was, allegedly, armed with a sharp weapon and with an iron rod, have already been released on regular bail.

The applicant herein was, allegedly, armed with a stone. 5.
It is also noticed that since he had to appear in his ongoing examination, which was scheduled in the month of May, 2025, he was granted interim protection even by the Court of learned Additional Sessions Judge and was permitted to participate in the examination. 6.
Though he was required to surrender on 04.06.2025, he did not surrender and rather, moved an application afresh seeking grant of anticipatory bail which has now been denied.

This is how the present application has been filed. 8.
The concerned Investigating Officer/ SI Achal is also present and the Status report has also been submitted on record. 9.
It is submitted by learned counsel for the accused that the petitioner is a student in his early 20's and has no previous involvement, except for the fact that he is also involved in one another FIR related to the same very incident, for which a separate FIR, i.e. FIR No. 195/2025 has been registered, in which he is stated to be on bail. 10.
During course of the arguments, learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that earlier also, the petitioner had participated in the investigation and he is ready to join the investigation, as and when, so directed. 11.

released on bail by the Arresting Officer on his furnishing personal bond and surety bond in a sum of Rs.10,000/- each. Needless to say, as and when so directed, the petitioner would join the investigation and co-operate with the Investigating Agency.
