While issuing notice on 26.09.2023, this Court passed the following order:- "xxx

3. The present petition has been filed by the petitioner for quashing of proceedings in Criminal Case No. 257/2020 titled State v. Yogendra Singh & Ors for the offences under Sections 420/468/471/364A/120B of the Indian Penal Code, 1860 (IPC) arising out of FIR no. 139/2018 registered at Police Station Kashmere Gate, Delhi.

4. It is the case of the petitioner that the present proceedings have been initiated by somebody by forging the name and identity of the petitioner herein. It is stated that the petitioner has neither given any such complaint to Police Station Kashmere Gate nor filed any complaint under Section 156(3) of the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973 (CrPC) against respondents no. 3 to 9 herein. present petition has been filed for quashing of the false complaint forging the name of the petitioner.

5. The issue raised in the present petition is serious as on the basis of identity of a person, a false criminal complaint has been filed and on the basis of which an FIR has been registered and the charge sheet has been filed.

6. In these circumstances, it is deemed appropriate that the matter be inquired by ACP North, Crime Branch under the supervision of Joint Commissioner of Police and the inquiry report be filed before this Court." 2.

An Enquiry/Status Report has been placed on record as per which petitioner's contention was found to be incorrect. It has been concluded that Mr. Narender Kumar who has filed the present petition, was in fact the complainant. It is also informed that the Mr. Narender Kumar has since expired. There is no appearance on behalf of the petitioner. Considering the aforesaid, no further orders are required to be passed. 3.
