The petitioner seeks extension of hostel accommodation till 31.12.2025.

During course of the arguments, learned counsel for petitioner submits that the petitioner would restrict his such request till 15.08.2025. He submits that petitioner is making alternate arrangements and would ensure that once the alternate accommodation is available to him, the hostel room is vacated on or before 15.08.2025.

The hostel room in question was allocated to him in the year 2018. 4.

The petitioner is pursuing his PhD programme and he is scheduled to complete his such PhD by 31.12.2025.

The petitioner is from Assam and has no other relative or acquaintance in Delhi.

Learned Counsel for respondent appears on advance notice and accepts notice.

He submits that petitioner has no right to seek any such type of extension. It is, rather, submitted that on previous occasions, his request for extension were rather duly considered and he was given extension as well. 8.

Normally, in such kind of matters, there should not be any interference from the Court as the grant of Hostel accommodation is within the exclusive domain of the concerned authority. Naturally, with the start of new academic session, fresh entrants would also require hostel rooms. 9.

Be that as it may, keeping in view the peculiar facts and circumstances of the case and the reasons assigned by the petitioner, the petition is disposed of with the direction that the hostel room in question be vacated by him on or before 15.08.2025.

The abovesaid order shall not be taken as a precedent.
