Twenty-three petitioners have filed this writ petition under Article 226 of the Constitution, seeking a direction for regularisation of their services in Sansad Television [respondent No. 1 herein]. 2.

The petitioners rely upon an order dated 09.05.2025 in Anna Gupta & Anr. v. Sansad Television & Ors. [W.P.(C) 6214/2025], by which similarly placed employees were permitted to file a comprehensive representation with respondent No. 1, which would be decided in coordination with the Rajya Sabha Secretariat and the Lok Sabha Secretariat.

petitioners have been annexed to the present writ petition. He, therefore, submits that the writ petition and the documents filed therein, may be treated as a comprehensive representation before respondent No. 1. 4.

Mr. Sandeep Mahapatra, learned counsel for respondent Nos. 1 and 2, and Mr. Pramod Gupta, learned counsel for respondent No. 3, enter appearance on advance notice. They submit that the petitioners were contractual employees, and their contracts have been extended for various periods of time, lastly in July 2024 for a period of one month or until further orders. They remain in service.

Mr. Bhargava relies upon several judgments of the Supreme Court, including Jaggo vs. Union of India & Ors., [2024 SCC OnLine 3826], in support of his contention that the circumstances of the petitioners' employment entitle them to regularisation.

Having regard to the order of this Court dated 09.05.2025, the present petition is disposed of, with the direction that respondent No. 1 will consider the writ petition as a representation, and dispose of the same, in accordance with law, in coordination with respondent Nos. 2 and 3, within a period of eight weeks from today. 7.

The writ petition, alongwith the pending application, is disposed of with the aforesaid direction, reserving the rights and contentions of the parties.
