The present writ petition has been filed on behalf of the petitioner seeking issuance of directions to the respondent no.

1/Municipal Corporation of Delhi ("MCD") to provide the certified copy of the Death Certificate of his aunt, namely, Late Mrs. Sunila Manocha. 2.

It is submitted that the petitioner is the nephew (sister's son) of Late Mrs. Sunila Manocha who passed away on 24th November, 2021, at the National Heart Institute, East of Kailash, New Delhi - 110065. 3.

Subsequently, her death was registered in terms of the Registration of Births and Deaths Act, 1969, with the then South Delhi Municipal Corporation ("SDMC"), now MCD vide Registration No. MCDOLIR-02213011210710. The authenticity of the order can be re-verified from Delhi High Court Order Portal by scanning the QR code shown above.

It is submitted that the deceased aunt of the petitioner was unmarried till her lifetime and was residing in Greater Kailash, New Delhi, at the time of her demise, whereas, the petitioner, herein, was residing at Hyderabad, Telangana.

It is further submitted that the petitioner has certain disputes with other legal heirs of his deceased aunt. Thus, he submits that in order to secure his rights, the petitioner has made a representation to the MCD seeking the Death Certificate of the deceased. However, the MCD responded to the said representation vide a letter dated 13th May, 2022, stating that the Death Certificate was to be downloaded from the website of the MCD, i.e., mcdonline.nic.in.

It is submitted that despite following the instructions in the aforesaid letter, the petitioner was unable to download the Death Certificate of the deceased, since his mobile number was not linked with the Registration No. MCDOLIR-0221-3011210710.

He submits that despite making representations to the MCD time and again, he has been unable to secure a certified copy of the Death Certificate of his deceased aunt. 7.

Responding to the present petition, learned counsel appearing for the MCD submits that the Death Certificate has already been issued by the MCD, which can be duly downloaded from the website of the MCD. However, learned counsel appearing for the MCD concedes to the fact that number is linked to the registration number of the deceased. 8.

Considering the submissions made before this Court and without going into any dispute which the petitioner may be having with other legal heirs of his deceased aunt, it is directed that a certified copy of the Death The authenticity of the order can be re-verified from Delhi High Court Order Portal by scanning the QR code shown above.

Certificate of Late Mrs. Sunila Manocha, shall be issued by the respondentMCD to the petitioner. 9.

Let the needful be done, within a period of four weeks from today. 10.

It is clarified that this Court has not expressed any opinion on the merits of the dispute raised by the petitioner or his entitlement with regard to the disputes that the petitioner has with other legal heirs of Late Mrs. Sunila Manocha.

With the aforesaid directions, the present writ petition is accordingly disposed of.
