The present petition has been filed by the petitioner, an acid attack survivor, seeking direction to the respondent no.1 /Deputy Secretary Women Safety Division, Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA), Union of India (UOI) for release of additional compensation of Rs.1 Lakh under the Prime Minister's National Relief Fund (PMNRF) in addition to the compensation under Central Victim Compensation Fund Scheme. 4.

Learned counsel, as aforesaid, accepts notice on behalf of the respondents.

Learned counsel for the respondent no.1 submits that an Office Memorandum dated 10.06.2025 has been issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs (WS Division) whereby it has been acknowledged that "the case of the petitioner appears to be fit as per the extant guidelines of the MHA and instructions from PMO", for release of the additional financial assistance of Rs.1 Lakh under PMNRF to the petitioner. The relevant portion of the said office memorandum is as under:
"2. The Application of Ms. Shashi is in prescribed proforma and duly authenticated by concerned DM. The Medical Report from Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital, clearly indicate acid burn injury suffered by Ms. Shashi on 19.04.2012 and attached copy of FIR also substantiates the occurrence of acid attack.
3. In light of the above, the case of Ms. Shashi appears to be fit as per the standing guidelines of MHA and instructions from PMO. Therefore, the above said application (in original) along-with supporting documents is forwarded to PMO for consideration to pay financial assistance of Rupees One Lakh under PMNRF to the acid attack victim, Ms. Shashi."

Learned counsel for the respondent no2./Sub-Divisional Magistrate, Jhandewalan Extension, Jhandewalan, New Delhi and respondent no.3/Government of NCT of Delhi also submits that all the necessary supporting documents have been forwarded by the said respondents to the respondent no.1 vide communication dated 05.06.2025. The respondent nos.2 and 3 also does not dispute the eligibility and entitlement of the petitioner for the additional compensation, as prayed for. 8.
