This petition has been filed seeking quashing of FIR No.22/2023 PS Tilak Nagar under Sections 498A/406/34 IPC on the basis of a settlement arrived at between the parties dated 28th February, 2024 and 12th April, 2024 which is on record of the Court.

Petitioner No.1 and respondent No.2 were married on 01st April, 2018 and the complaints were filed pursuant to certain matrimonial discord. Both petitioner No.1 and respondent No.2 are present in Court and duly identified by the IO. They state that they have resolved their issues and are now staying with each other in peace and harmony. One child was born out of wedlock.

The family members of petitioner No.1 being petitioner Nos.2-6 are present through VC.

Considering the above settlement between the parties, and the chances of conviction of petitioners being remote and bleak, there is no use continuing with proceedings of the present FIR as it would be a misuse of the process of the Court and an unnecessary burden on the State exchequer. Accordingly, the petition is allowed. Consequently, the FIR No.22/2023 PS Tilak Nagar under Sections 498A/406/34 IPC and proceedings emanating therefrom are quashed.

Parties shall abide by the terms of settlement. 6.

Accordingly, the petition is disposed of. Pending applications (if any) are disposed of as infructuous.
