% 08.07.2024 1.
This petition has been filed seeking quashing of FIR No.608/2014 PS Kanjhawala under Section 354A/506/509 IPC on the ground that the respondent No.2 does not wish to continue the proceedings any further having amicably settled her inter se issues with the petitioner. The petitioner and the respondent No.2 are both present in Court and duly identified by the IO. Respondent No.2 states that the petitioner is the brother-in-law and they were internal family disputes which they seek to resolve and proceed ahead in peace and harmony. 2.
For this purpose, she wishes to not pursue the proceedings any further, as filed with affidavit in support of the quashing. 3.

would be appropriate, if some costs are paid for having triggered the State machinery in this regard.
4.
Accordingly, the petitioner shall deposit Rs.25,000/- in the Delhi Police Welfare Fund within a period of four weeks. They will also file an affidavit confirming deposit of the same amount, within a period of two weeks thereafter.
5.
Considering the above settlement between the parties and the chances of conviction of the petitioners being remote and bleak, there is no use continuing with proceedings of the present FIR as it would be a misuse of the process of the Court and an unnecessary burden on the State exchequer. Accordingly, the petition is allowed. Consequently, the FIR No.22/2023 PS Tilak Nagar under Sections 498A/406/34 IPC and proceedings emanating therefrom are quashed.
6.
Parties shall abide by the terms of settlement. 7.
Accordingly, the petition is disposed of. Pending applications (if any) are disposed of as infructuous.
