O R D E R

% 24.09.2019 The present petition has been instituted under section 482 Cr.P.C. for quashing of FIR No.1309/2015 registered under Sections 336/34 IPC at police station Govind Puri.

Learned ASC for the State submits that the respondentno.2 is the sister-in-law (bhabi) of petitioner and some temperamental differences interse led to the registration of the aforementioned FIR. Learned counsel for the parties submit that the parties have now settled their disputes before the Mediation Centre, Saket Courts on 09.07.2019. It is further submitted that the respondent no.2 has started living with her husband since 10.07.2019.

Both the petitioner and the respondent no.2 are present in Court along with their respective counsels and have been identified by the investigating officer.

Respondent no.2/complainant, who is present in Court admits the factum of settlement arrived at with the petitioner and he further states that she has entered into a settlement with the petitioner on her own free will without any undue pressure or coercion from any source whatsoever and is happily residing with her husband. She further states that in view of the settlement, she has no objection if the aforementioned FIR is quashed. In view of the above submissions coupled with the fact that the respondent no.2 is now living with her husband, no fruitful purpose would be served in continuing criminal proceedings against the petitioners. Accordingly, the aforesaid FIR and consequential proceedings emanating therefrom are hereby quashed.

The petition stands disposed of.
