CORAM:
HON'BLE MR. JUSTICE A.K. PATHAK
O R D E R
% 03.02.2017 It is submitted that petitioner and respondent no.2 have settled their disputes before the Delhi High Court Mediation & Conciliation Centre vide Settlement Agreement dated 21st December, 2016, Annexure P-2. Petitioner and respondent no.2, who are present in Court, undertake to comply with the terms of the settlement agreement. Respondent no.2 also reiterates that she has settled the matter with the petitioner of her own free will and without any undue force, pressure or coercion. She further submits that in view of the settlement, she is not willing to pursue the FIR any further and the same may be quashed.
Since the petitioner and respondent no.2 have settled their disputes
before the Mediation Centre and respondent no.2 is not willing to pursue the FIR any further, I am of the view that no fruitful purpose would be served in keeping the present criminal proceedings pending. Accordingly, in the interest of justice, FIR No. 236/2004 under Sections 498-A/406 registered at police station Khanpur and the consequent proceedings emanating therefrom are quashed.
Writ petition is disposed of. Miscellaneous application is disposed of as infructuous.
Dasti.
