This is a joint petition under Section 29A of the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996 seeking extension of mandate of the Arbitral Tribunal by a period of 12 months w.e.f. 01.06.2024 for passing the final award.

Issue notice.

Ms Abbasi, learned counsel accepts notice on behalf of the respondent. He states that it is a joint petition and has no objection to the petition being allowed.

For the reasons noted above, I am of the view that sufficient cause has been explained for the delay.

The petition is allowed and the mandate of the Arbitral Tribunal is extended by a period of 12 months w.e.f. 01.06.2024. The period from 01.06.2024 till today stands regularized.

The petition is accordingly disposed of.
