Further to the order dated 19.10.2023, Mr. Bahar U. Barqi, learned counsel for the petitioner, states that the term of the union, which was elected on 29.08.2019, has already expired, and fresh elections are imminent. He, therefore, does not wish to proceed with the writ petition. 2.

However, Mr. Barqi submits that the petitioner's grievances arise from the inclusion of casual workers in the electoral roll, qua the elections which were held in August 2019. He submits that casual workers are not eligible to be included in the electoral roll. 3.

Respondent No.2 - Food Corporation of India may take this aspect into account while formulating the electoral roll for subsequent elections. 4.
