By way of the present petition, the petitioners are seeking quashing of FIR bearing no. 511/2021, registered at Police Station Govindpuri, for the commission of offences punishable under Sections 354(A)/323/341/34 of Indian Penal Code, 1860 (hereafter 'IPC') and all consequential proceedings arising therefrom.

Issue notice. Ms. Meenakshi Dahiya, learned APP accepts notice on behalf of the State.

Brief facts of the present case are that on 25.08.2021, petitioners alleged that respondent no. 2 along with her husband and few other associated were tampering with the electricity meter of the petitioners' premises due to which the electricity supply to the petitioners' residence got abruptly disrupted. respondent no. 2 along with her associates allegedly resorted to using abusive language and subsequently engaged in physical assault and resultantly FIR bearing no. 510/2021 dated 27.08.2021 was registered by the petitioners against the respondent no. 2. On the other hand respondent no. 2 alleged that while she was getting an electricity meter installed at her residence, the petitioners arrived at the spot and began abusing the BSES workers who were undertaking the installation. It is further alleged that the petitioners physically pushed the respondent no. 2 and inappropriately touched her chest. As a result of the said altercation, respondent no. 2 had registered the present FIR bearing no. 511/2021 against the petitioners herein.

The learned counsel for the petitioners states that a civil suit was also filed by the petitioners against the husband of the respondent no. 2 and the same is pending before the Hon'ble Saket Court. During the trial of the said suit, the parties opted for mediation, and on 27.03.2024, a mutual settlement was reached, resolving the dispute amicably. In the Memorandum of Understanding dated 27.03.202 wherein it was agreed between the parties that the parties shall co-operate in quashing of the cross FIRs registered against them. He further states that in consonance with the law settled as well as in view of the Memorandum of Understanding dated 27.03.2024, the petitioners herein are seeking quashing of the present FIR and subsequent proceedings emanating therefrom.

Considering the same, the parties are present in person before this Court and have been identified by their counsels and Investigating Officer concerned.

she has no objection, if the present FIR is quashed. 7.
In view of the above facts that the parties have amicably resolved their differences out of their own free will and without any coercion, I am of the opinion that no useful purpose will be served by continuing the proceedings, rather the same would create further acrimony between them. Hence, it would be in the interest of justice to quash the abovementioned FIR and the proceedings pursuant thereto. Moreover, there is no legal impediment in quashing the FIR in question.

Accordingly, FIR bearing no. 511/2021, registered at Police Station Govindpuri, for the commission of offences punishable under Sections 354(A)/323/341/34 of IPC and all consequential proceedings emanating therefrom are quashed.

In view of above, the present petition stands disposed of. 10.
