This is a writ petition under Article 226 & 21 of the Constitution of India read with Section 528 of BNSS, 2023 for directions to the police to provide protection to the petitioner and for issuing directions to register the FIR against the culprits.

Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that one Aman Hudda threatened the petitioner to pay Rs. 80 lakhs. He came to the house of the petitioner and threatened his family members for extorting the money. Despite complaint made at Police Helpline, no action has been taken by the police. with DCP Office, East. According to him, petitioner is made to run from one police station to another, but no action is being taken and he apprehends threat to his life from concerned Aman Hudda and has therefore prayed for grant of protection.

It is duty of the State of provide safety and security to all the citizens. 4.

Learned ASC, appearing for the respondents, has no objection in providing security to the petitioner against any anticipated threat. 5.

Petition is disposed of with direction that SHO of the police station within whose jurisdiction the petitioner is residing, shall share the mobile number of the Beat Constable with the petitioner so that petitioner may seek immediate assistance in case of any need. The SHO shall also counsel the Beat Constable accordingly. The Beat Constable of the area would make a telephone call to the petitioner once every day before 6.00 pm at least for next one month. However, with regard to the request for registration of the FIR against the concerned person, petitioner is at liberty to initiate the necessary legal action as per law.
