This is a petition filed under Section 29(A) of the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996 seeking extension of the mandate of the learned sole arbitrator by a period of three/six months for the arbitral tribunal to make and publish the award.

respondent and has no objection to the petition being allowed. 7.

He states that as the dispute involves commercial transaction, the recording of evidence will take some time. At present, the claimant witnesses are under cross examination and hence the period may be extended by one year.

I am satisfied that sufficient cause has been shown and in view of no objection by the learned counsel for the respondent, the petition is allowed and the period for making and publishing the arbitral award is extended by one year with effect from 01.07.2024.

The petition is disposed of.
