Petitioner No. 1 is present in person and states that she got married to Respondent No. 6 on 14th December, 2024. She states that Respondent No. 6 consumes alcohol regularly and is violent. She further states that he has assaulted her father and therefore, on account of his conduct and behaviour, she does not wish to live with him any longer. 2.

Through this petition under Section 528 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023, Petitioners seek police protection as they apprehend that Respondent No. 6 may cause Petitioner No. 1 and her family members bodily harm and injury, who has been allegedly extending threats to them. 3.

Considering the relief sought in the present petition, no reply/ status report is necessary.

Mr. Bhandari states that considering the apprehension of Petitioners, the SHO of the concerned Police Station shall provide adequate protection to the Petitioners. It is directed that the beat constable of the concerned area shall be sensitized in this behalf. Furthermore, the telephone numbers of the concerned Police Station as well as of the beat constable shall also be provided to the Petitioners in order to enable them to contact the officers, in the event of any threat or apprehension.

With the above directions, the present writ petition is disposed of along with pending application.

It must be clarified that the above directions are issued only to ensure safety of Petitioners and does not amount to acceptance of allegations levelled by the Petitioners.

The Court has not commented on the merits of the case. All rights and contentions of the parties are left open.
