filed by the Petitioners for renewal of Passport for 10 years stating that the Passport cannot be renewed for 10 years.
2.
Learned Counsel for the Petitioner places reliance on GSR dated 25.08.1993. The relevant portion of the GSR reads as under:- "G.S.R. 570(E). - In exercise of the powers conferred by clause (a) of section 22 of the Passports Act, 1967 (15 of 1967) and in supersession of the notification of the Government of India in the Ministry of External Affairs no. G.S.R.
(emphasis supplied) The authenticity of the order can be re-verified from Delhi High Court Order Portal by scanning the QR code shown above.
3.
Looking at the nature of offences, this Court is not inclined to interfere with the order passed by the learned Trial Court. The Passport can be renewed only for a period of one year. However, keeping in mind the fact that the FIR in question is of the year 2012 and the trial is going on for the last 12 years, the Trial Court is requested to complete the trial positively within a period of one year from today.
4.
With these observations, the petitions are disposed of along with pending application(s), if any.
