% 09.02.2018 Respondent No. 2 Ms. Mamata Jain is present in court along with her counsel and has been identified by SI Parvesh of Police Station Krishna Nagar. Respondent No. 2 says that she has settled the matter with petitioner no.1 before the Counselling Cell, East District on 23rd December, 2016 of her own free will, voluntarily and without any undue force, pressure or coercion. Her marriage with petitioner no.1 has already been dissolved by a decree of divorce by mutual consent dated 10th October, 2017 passed by Family Court, East District, Karkardooma, Delhi.

Petitioner has paid `1,75,000/- by way of demand draft, photocopy whereof is on record. Respondent No. 2 says that with this payment, entire settlement amount of `7,25,000/-stands received. She says that she has no objection in case FIR is quashed against both the

petitioner no.1 and his relatives, that is, petitioner nos. 2 to 4. Keeping in view the settlement arrived at between the petitioner No.1 and respondent no.2 voluntarily coupled with the fact that marriage between the petitioner and respondent no. 2 has already been dissolved, no fruitful purpose would be served to keep the criminal proceedings pending. In the interest of justice, FIR No.93/2016 under Sections 498A/406/34 IPC registered at police station Krishna Nagar and the consequent proceedings emanating therefrom are quashed.
