This writ petition has been filed by the Petitioners under Article 226 of the Constitution of India read with Section 482 Cr.P.C., seeking following reliefs:

"1. Issue a Writ of Mandamus/order/directions in the nature thereof thereby directing the Respondent No. 11 Station House Officer of Police Station Kalyanpuri, Delhi to provide necessary protection with adequate safety of property and the life of the Petitioners so they can earn their livelihood and also move back to their residence bearing address 13/45, Trilokpuri, east delhi-110091

2. Any other order that this Hon'ble High Court deems fit and proper in the cited facts and circumstances, in favour of Petitioners and against the Respondents"

Status report has been filed on behalf of the State, in which it is stated that there was some conflict between two rival groups, as mentioned in the petition, with respect to allocation of area, where they earn their livelihood. However, contact numbers of Beat In-charge, SHO and ACP concerned were provided. Petitioners were also sensitized to make a call, in case of any threat or requirement. Additionally, Respondent No.2 was instructed not to prevent Petitioners from entering into their area and to behave like a lawabiding citizen. 3.

Considering that the status report was filed on 20.11.2022, learned ASC for the State, on instructions, states that the contact numbers of present Beat Officer and SHO concerned will be provided to the Petitioners on which they are free to call in case of any threat or requirement. Let the needful be done during the course of the day. Needless to state that on receipt of call for help from the Petitioners, the Beat Officer/SHO concerned shall ensure prompt action and otherwise also take steps to maintain peace between the parties.
