In this petition filed by way of public interest litigation, the petitioner inter alia seeks to "issue an appropriate writ/direction/order in the nature of certiorari to quash the impugned Railway Ticket Reservation Forms to the extent of Gender/Sex requirement option for booking railway ticket." 2.
The contention of the petitioner is that the respondents ought to have ar included "trans-gender/third gender" also as a gender option in the Railway Ticket Reservation Forms.

It may be an issue which needs to be looked into by the respondents, however, the same deserves no consideration by us in exercise of jurisdiction under Article 226 of the Constitution of India.

Accordingly, leaving it open to the petitioner to bring the issue raised in this petition to the notice of the Railways by way of a representation or otherwise, the writ petition is dismissed.
