% 13.07.2016 By this writ petition under Article 226 of the Constitution of India petitioner prayed that respondent be directed to renew the arms licence No.NWKW/11/1983/232 of the petitioner. Writ petition has been filed on 08.02.2016.

In the status report, it has been stated that arms licence of the petitioner was cancelled vide order No.34761-64/Addl.

C.P./Lic./Arms/SCN(NWS) dated 27.08.2010.

A copy of the order has also been annexed with the status report. It may be noted that remedy of appeal under Section 18 of the Arms Act, 1959 is available

to the petitioner.

Learned Additional Standing Counsel submits that photocopy of the order has been annexed with the status report. Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that petitioner was not served with the order of the cancellation. Since alternative remedy of appeal is available to the petitioner, I am not inclined to entertain this writ petition. Petitioner is at liberty to file an appeal against order dated 27.08.2010 and in case any such appeal is filed within four weeks from today, the same shall be considered by the appellate authority without going into the question of delay.

The petition stands disposed of.
