This petition is filed on behalf of the Petitioner under Section 29A (4) and (5) of the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996 ('1996 Act') seeking extension of the mandate of the learned Arbitral Tribunal upto 28.02.2026. 2.
Disputes having arisen between the parties in relation to an Operation Large Risk Policy dated 15.05.2016, a three-member Arbitral Tribunal was constituted to adjudicate the disputes. Initial period of 12 months having expired, mandate of the Arbitral Tribunal was extended by six months on 09.12.2024 with the consent of the parties, which expires on 11.07.2025. It is stated in the petition that the arbitral proceedings are at the stage of crossexamination of Claimant's witness. Mr. Bomi Patel, learned counsel accepts notice on behalf of the Respondent and on instructions, submits that Respondent has no objection to the extension of mandate of the Arbitral Tribunal. 5.
Accordingly, with the consent of the parties, mandate of the Arbitral Tribunal is extended upto 28.02.2026 from 12.07.2025. 6.
