The petitioner has filed the present petition, inter alia, impugning an order dated 12.07.2019, whereby the petitioner's application for parole was rejected. The petitioner had sought parole for the purpose of filing a Special Leave Petition before the Supreme Court.

The nominal roll has been furnished, which indicates that the petitioner has already undergone custody of six years six months and seven days as on 16.09.2019. During this period, the petitioner had also earned remission of one year two months and five days. 3.

The petitioner was convicted of an offence under Section 302 of the IPC and by an order dated 27.05.2003 was awarded a sentence of life imprisonment.

The status report has been filed which indicates that the address furnished by the petitioner has been verified.

The petitioner's conduct in the jail has also been reported as satisfactory.

In view of the above, this Court considers it apposite to allow the present petition and direct that the petitioner be granted parole for a period of four weeks from the date of his release. This is subject to the petitioner furnishing a Personal Bond in the sum of ₹20,000/- and a surety of an equivalent amount to the satisfaction of the Jail Superintendent. The petitioner shall also provide his mobile number and contact details and ensure that he is reachable at all times.

The petition is disposed of in the aforesaid terms. 8.
