Learned counsel for the petitioner has placed before me a copy of the letter dated 22.01.2020 which has been addressed by the Faculty of Science to The Head, Department of Physics & Astrophysics, University of Delhi.

The contents of the letter are brief and, therefore, are extracted hereinafter:- " Sir Please refer to the recommendations of the Department Research Committee in the case of Ms. Anita who has been registered as a Ph.D. scholar in the department of Physics & Astrophysics w.e.f. 19.11.2012 on the above subject.
In this connection, the undersigned inform you that on the recommendations of the Board of Research Studies (Science), the Hon'ble ViceChancellor has approved the IIIrd extension of
period w.e.f. 19.11.2018 to 18.05.2019.
The scholar may please be informed accordingly. " 3.
Learned counsel for the petitioner says that the petitioner has also received a copy of this very letter.
3.1 Learned counsel for the petitioner, thus, submits that, therefore, the writ petition has substantially worked out itself. 4.
Learned counsel for the petitioner says that the petitioner will submit her thesis within three weeks from today. 4.1 The statement of the learned counsel for the petitioner is taken on record.

It is made clear that the thesis submitted by the petitioner within the timeframe given above, will be deemed to have been submitted in the extended period i.e. between 19.11.2018 and 18.05.2019.

The writ petition is accordingly disposed of. There shall, however, be no order as to costs.
