3. The petitioners have approached this Court seeking the following reliefs:- "(i) Issue a writ of mandamus to the Respondents to fix the basic pay of the petitioners at Rs. 7,510 instead of Rs. 6,750 and grant the Petitioners the basic pay equivalent to the other similarly placed Sub-Inspector under Respondent Nos. 1 and 2 and direct the Respondents to pay the arrears of pay w.e.f. 01.01.2006;
(ii) Pass any other order or direction as this Hon'ble Court may deem fit and proper in the facts and circumstances of the case."

4. Learned counsel for the petitioners submits that a similar petition being W.P.(C)15467/2023 already stands allowed by this Court by directing the respondents to examine the petitioners' claim in terms of the decision in Vinoj V.V. and Ors. v. Union of India and Anr. 2018 SCC OnLine Del 12714.
5. Issue notice. Learned counsel for the respondents accepts notice and has no objection to this limited prayer sought by the petitioners.
6. In the light of the aforesaid stand taken by the parties, the writ petition is disposed of by directing the respondents to consider the petitioner's claim as raised in the present petition within a period of six weeks from today and in case, the petitioner is found eligible for higher pay scale, his pay be re-fixed and all consequential benefits be granted to him along with interest @ 9% p.a within a period of six weeks thereafter.
7. Needless to state in case, the petitioner is aggrieved by any order passed by the respondents, it will be open for him to seek legal recourse as permissible in law.
