Matter is listed today, on an office note issued by the Registry, in terms of a request received from the Court of Ms. Ekta Gauba Mann, Special Judge (NPDS-01), Central, Tis Hazari Courts, Delhi1, seeking extension of time for compliance of this Court's directions issued vide order dated 13th August, 2024. By way of the said order, while disposing of the instant bail application, this Court directed the Trial Court to expedite recording of testimonies of the witnesses and conclude trial within 6 months from the date of the order.

The letter of request, alongwith the previous order sheets passed by the Trial Court in the matter, are perused.

The orders of the Trial Court indicate that as on 26th March, 2025, the prosecution evidence had been recorded and the matter was fixed for 1 "Trial Court"

recording of the statement of the accused under Section 313 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, 19732. However, on the said date, counsel for the accused sought an adjournment on the grounds that he needed time to assist the Court at the time of recording of the accused's statement and that he wished to examine 8-10 defence witnesses, for which he would furnish a list of defence witnesses. Considering the same, the matter was adjourned to 29th March, 2025, for recording of statement of the accused. 4.

In light of this development, the Trial Court has sent a request seeking extension of time for compliance of this Court's directions dated 13th August, 2024. It is prayed that since the defence wishes to examine 8-10 witnesses, further time is required to conclude the trial. 5.

Considering the above, this Court deems it fit to extend the time for completion of the trial by another 6 months from the date of this order. 6.

Accordingly, the office note is discharged.

Registry is directed to send a copy of this order to the concerned Trial Court immediately without any default, for necessary information and compliance.
