After some arguments, learned counsel for the applicant, on instructions, does not wish to press the present bail application. He however, submits that since the present FIR pertains to the year 2018 and the trial is still at the stage of prosecution evidence, Trial Court may be directed to expedite the trial. He further submits that till date only 12 witnesses have been examined out of 28 witnesses.

On a perusal of paper book, it appears that charge was framed way back in the year 2018 and PW1 was also examined in the same year. The FIR relates to the year 2018. Accordingly, Trial Court shall make an endeavour to expedite the trial and conclude the same within one year from the next date of hearing. It is informed that next date before the Trial Court is fixed for 16.10.2024. The applicant shall be at liberty to seek preponement of the date fixed.
