Learned Amicus Curiae states that prolongation of the present proceedings has created a very precarious situation for the applicants as they are being threatened by a coterie of illegal builders and illegal traders. He states that it is becoming difficult for the applicants to take photographs / collect evidence of illegal constructions in their neighbourhood, which is the famous heritage area of Chandni Chowk (Shahjahanabad), right near the well-known landmark Ghanta Ghar.

Keeping in view the averments in the application, SHO of Police Station Lahori Gate is directed to look into the complaints of the petitioner No.2 and take appropriate steps with regard to the same in accordance with law.

With the aforesaid direction, the present application stands disposed of.

Though the writ petition is not listed today, yet at the instance of learned Amicus Curiae, the matter is taken up for hearing. 6.
Keeping in view the fact that the petitioners, by way of subsequent applications, are pointing out unauthorised construction in a number of additional properties, this Court is of the view that proper course of action would be to direct the petitioner to file applications/complaints/ representation with regard to unauthorised construction before the STF, who in turn, is directed to decide the same in accordance with law, as expeditiously as possible.

With the aforesaid direction, the present writ petition stands disposed of. The next date of hearing stands cancelled. The rights and contentions of all the parties are left open.
