Petitioner is seeking parole for eight weeks to take care of his father, as his father is suffering from Cancer and various tests are to be conducted. The petitioner is the only son and he has been in jail more than 25 years. 2.
Status report filed.

Learned Standing Counsel (Criminal) for State opposes grant of parole and submits that according to report, there is nothing serious in the report for which the parole is required.

Learned counsel for the petitioner has drawn attention of this court that an appointment has been fixed before Dr. Neeraj Saraf for 15.11.2019 regarding certain tests to be conducted. A copy of e-mail has also been placed on record.

Heard. In the interest of justice, the petitioner be released on parole for a period of two weeks from today on his furnishing cash surety of Rs.10,000/- alongwith a personal bond in the like amount to the satisfaction of the Jail Superintendent, subject to the following conditions: i) The petitioner shall provide his mobile phone number to the Jail Superintendent at the time of his release, which shall be kept in working conditions at all the times. The same shall not be changed without prior intimation to the Jail Superintendent; ii) The petitioner shall report at the local police station to mark his attendance on every alternate day at 11:00 a.m. during the period of parole;
iii) The petitioner shall duly surrender at the end of the period of parole; and iv) The petitioner shall also not indulge in any criminal activity while on parole.
The petitioner was to surrender on 13th November, 2019 as furlough was coming to an end. Since, he has been granted parole from today he, therefore, need not surrender.
A copy of this order be communicated to the Jail Superintendent. The petition stands disposed of.
