This is an application filed by the petitioner seeking early hearing. 2.

For the reasons stated in the application, the same is allowed and the above captioned petition is taken up for hearing. W.P.(C) 9807/2024 3.

The petitioner claims that her husband (since deceased) was carrying on vending activities in the area of Karol Bagh. He expired on 08.05.2010 and thereafter the petitioner continued to carry on the vending activities at the tehbazari site located at Ajmal Khan Road, Karol Bagh. 4.

The concerned Municipal authorities proposed to declare Ajmal Khan Road as a 'pedestrian' zone.

The petitioner states that in view of the above, she was directed to be re-located and was shifted to a site in Dev Nagar, however, possession of the same was not handed over to her. The petitioner was thereafter shifted to yet another site near PNB Building Wall on Gurudwara Road, Arya Samaj Road, Gurudwara Road Junction. But despite the alternate site being allotted to the petitioner on 01.07.2019, the possession of the same was not handed over to the petitioner.

The petitioner states that in the given circumstances, she continued to carry on vending activities at Ajmal Khan Road, Karol Bagh. The petitioner has made a representation dated 04.07.2024 to the Commissioner, MCD for allotment of an alternative site but that has not been decided as yet. 7.

The learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner would be satisfied if the directions are issued to the respondent to consider the petitioner's representation expeditiously. 8.

Learned counsel for the respondent concurs with the said submission. 9.

In view of the above, the present petition is disposed of by directing the respondent to decide the petitioner's representation as expeditiously as possible and preferably, within a period of eight weeks from today. 10.
